Back the pool

Fund the prizes and share the pool’s gains and losses. Invite-only at launch.

You can lose money

Backing is risky. You can lose some or all of your deposit. There is no fixed return.

Launch settings

This page describes the settings agreed for launch on 24 September 2026. The test network still runs older settings; see Test network.

What backing means#

Backers put money into the prize pool. In return, they own a share of it.

Line sales can grow the pool. Paying winners can shrink it. Your share moves with the pool.

Who can back the pool#

At launch, backing is invite-only. Only Highroll and Backers it admits can deposit. The public can’t.

  • Admitting a new Backer is an owner action, so it waits 48 hours before it takes effect.
  • The allowlist only controls deposits. It never blocks a withdrawal.
  • There is also a limit on how much new money can come in. It starts at 1.1M.
For developers

The 1.1M cap limits deposits only: a deposit that would take the pool above it is refused. Ticket earnings are not limited, so the pool and the jackpot keep growing past the cap on days with no winner. Raising the cap is a 48-hour timelock action.

Deposit#

  1. Choose an amount.
  2. Check the pool has room. There is a limit on its size.
  3. Confirm the deposit.
  4. Your deposit waits for the current round to finish, then joins the next one.

Your deposit doesn’t change the prizes already shown for the current round.

For developers

After launch, deposit and requestWithdraw revert with PendingSettlement while an earlier round is still being processed or has unverified results. Retry once the round is settled.

Your share#

Your share is your percentage of the pool. Own 1%, and you get 1% of its gains and take 1% of its losses.

For developers

Raw state: lpAccount, sharesOf, epoch and depositCap. Summaries come from GigapotLens: lpValue, lpPosition and liquiditySnapshot. Show pending, active and withdrawable amounts separately.

Withdraw#

  1. Request a withdrawal.
  2. Wait for the current round to be processed. Your share still gains or loses until then.
  3. Withdraw the amount that’s ready.

If some pool money is with an outside service, part of your withdrawal may take longer. Why withdrawals can wait.

For developers

Read sharesOf(account), call requestWithdraw(shares), wait for settlement, then call withdraw(). cancelPending() cancels a pending deposit or request. A failed transfer doesn’t use up what you’re owed.
