Getting started
Who’s involved
Players play. Backers fund prizes. Referrers and apps bring people in.
The roles#
- Players
- Buy lines and win prizes.
- Backers
- Put money into the prize pool. They share its gains and losses.
- Referrers
- Apps and people who bring in buyers. They earn part of the line price.
- Highroll
- Runs the protocol and takes a small fee on each line.
Follow the money#
Launch settings
This page describes the settings agreed for launch on 24 September 2026. The test network still runs older settings; see Test network.
Where each $1 line goes at launch:
| Goes to | Share | Per $1 |
|---|---|---|
| Prizes, on average | 75% | 75¢ |
| Backers, on average | 12.5% | 12.5¢ |
| The referrer | 8–10% | 8–10¢ |
| Highroll’s fee | 2.5–4.5% | 2.5–4.5¢ |
The referrer and Highroll always share 12.5¢ between them. A busier referrer earns more, and the extra comes out of Highroll’s fee, never out of prizes or the Backers’ share. With no referrer, Highroll’s fee is the full 12.5¢.
The 75¢ is an average across all results. Between odds steps it is a little less, never more. Winners are paid in full, with no cut from winnings.
What it means for you#
- Players
- Your prize never pays a fee.
- Backers
- You can earn over time, and you can lose. Backing is invite-only at launch.
- Referrers
- You earn when people buy, not when they win.
- Apps
- You don’t run the draw or hold prize money.
For developers
Backer deposits join the following round, once the current one is processed. RoundConfigured sets the following round’s prizes and bonus range.
